Service Area

The RDC is the regional economic development organization for Northern New Mexico, with a principal service area of Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, Taos, San Miguel, Mora and Sandoval counties. The RDC also works statewide and outside of Northern New Mexico on select projects that fit its areas of expertise and philosophy. <top>

Our Approach

The quality and competency of the communities we live in contribute to the prosperity of all of our citizens. The RDC’s unique approach is to “incubate” economic development projects while building capacity for local organizations and communities to take them on. The RDC applies a “life cycle” approach to its economic development efforts, designed to strengthen organizations and build community ownership.

Our Strengths

  1. Effective Convenor.
The RDC has developed a reputation and considerable expertise in convening diverse interests in an effective manner that produces results, through regional work in the culturally and economically diverse communities of Northern New Mexico.
  2. Unique Solutions.
The RDC is dedicated to crafting unique, creative and innovative solutions for communities and organizations, rather than applying a one‐size fits all approach.
  3. Larger Lens of Opportunity. As a result of its regional focus, the RDC always looks for “big picture” opportunities and solutions, as well as new partnerships and collaborations, whether working at the regional, local or statewide level. We create opportunities through strategic partnerships for mutual benefit that are greater than the sum of our individual efforts.
  4. Strategic Implementation. For each project it takes on, the RDC sets a strategic course for taking the project from start to finish, using its “life cycle” approach. Our expertise in grants and contracts, sound financial management and capacity building ensure that the job gets done.
  5. Quality Work. The RDC is committed to professional competence; high‐performance teamwork; and open, straightforward communication. Living and working in Northern New Mexico, our process and products reflect our dedication to Northern New Mexico and our practice of citizenship.
